Funny Country Review #3: England!

After United States and South Korea, it’s time to review the country that completes my podium of the most fascinating country in the world. In the first position there’s United States for the power, South Korea in second place for the hidden secrets and England in the third place for the history. Yes, it’s time to talk about one of the three country, together with Spain and France, that literally created the world we live in right now.

I am really fascinated by England as a country for three reason. Let’s start with the History.

History of Englang talks for itself: a millenium of history, the english Kingdom controls big parts of the world through colonialism for centuries and England is the reason why United States exists right now and why in India, South Africa, Australia and New Zeland people speak english. Because it’s not a case: before the first world war, England, France and Spain controls the world. Yes, there were other empires like China and Japan in the far East, but the biggest part of history was written in Europe and Americas.

England was en empire, but it was also a kingdom, where the kings (and the queens) throughout history decided what was right and wrong. One words from the regent and the kingdom declared war to other kingdoms, alliances started and people were executed. However, England was the very first country where a sort of “constitution” was invented, the Magna Charta, although it wasn’t properly a consitution, but it was anyway the beginning of something big:

Magna Carta Libertatum (Medieval Latin for “Great Charter of Freedoms”), commonly called Magna Carta (also Magna Charta; “Great Charter”), is a royal charter of rights agreed to by King John of England at Runnymede, near Windsor, on 15 June 1215. First drafted by Archbishop of Canterbury Stephen Langton to make peace between the unpopular king and a group of rebel barons, it promised the protection of church rights, protection for the barons from illegal imprisonment, access to swift justice, and limitations on feudal payments to the Crown, to be implemented through a council of 25 barons.

I don’t know if it’s true or not, but three rules of the original Magna Carta are still in the engsligh Constitution…after 800 years.

England is the reason of the existance of United States and the american Constitution, the reason why Gandhi is now a hero in India and in human History, the reason of the Anglican Church and one of the main reasons why Germany was defeated after the WWII. Without England, history would have been quite different…

Oh, talking about music: can we just talk about Beatles and Rolling Stones? I mean, in the 60s and 70s music was dominated by those two group. Without even know it, they have changed the business in a way that, looking back right now, is absolutely insane! Just think about the the look, the songs, the way they performed…and all the records they have broken. Even after all these decades, Beatles and Rolling Stone are one of the most successful group of all time. And in more recent times we have had Elton John, the Spice Girls and the Blue and Adele…England is a wonderful place to have success in music apparently!

I am fascinated by England because of the pride. Oh, if the are proud of who they are! They have lots of defect, like every country, but one thing you can say: Don’t even think to insult their culture! Because if you do, it’s game over for you. For example, an english can insult the Royal Family, even if it’s very unlikely something like that happens, but if a foreign do the same, this person is better not to show her or his face in England anymore. Talking about Kingdom…
English people have a very weird relationship with the Royal Family. I don’t know, but from a ignorant outsider, it seems that english “hate” the Royal Family, but in the end they will be ready to die for them. I know that English are grateful to the Royal Family because they stood in England during the german bombing in the WWII, but know it seems that lot of people doesn’t stand too much what happens in Buckingham Palace.

This pride is also visible in sport. They have invented football, motorsport and rugby and they let you know it. In a way, it seems that they want to make us think that we should kiss their feet, just because they have created sports in Europe…i mean, we know it and we are thankful for that, but it doesn’t mean english are the best, because you are often not (Euro 2020 is a perfect example!).

After pride, english people are sexy. Let me explain that. They are not sey, because they look sexy, but it’s the way they talk that is sexy. Damn if they sound absolutely gourgeous. I can easily let me insult by an english man all day and i will be happy. I don’t know, but english accent sound so nice, smooth and very charming. Even in englsih people get very mad, they sound absolutely polite and nice, even if they are cursing like crazy. And do we want to talk about the english women? Think about all the actresses: Emma Watson, Cate Blanchett, Emily Blunt and Gina Bellman are incredible example or very talented actresses that are absolutely sexy just because they speak english. They don’t do nothing to look hot, but as soon as they speak my heart mealts like snow in summer. English accent is absolutely a beauty!

I am really fascinated by England: the tradition, the history, the people…i mean, you can easily visit England as a tourist and never come back, because it’s justt too beautiful!

See ya
